Changes
pykickstart
3.62-1.fc42 → 3.62-2.fc42
pykickstart is a python library that is used for reading and writing kickstart files. It provides a common data representation, a parser, and a writer…
The main reason for creating this project was to synchronize kickstart support between the two main programs - [“Anaconda”] and system-config-kickstart.
Only one package change for this release; pykickstart was updated to require a directory specification when using the %certificate section in kickstarts.
The %certificate section is new to Fedora 42, and seems especially great for those running their own certificate authorities!
Extra Notes
This compose was my first introduction to pykickstart, despite my frequent usage of kickstarts themselves. It does provide the ksvalidator command (that I should make more use of), and the effort to make kickstart options more consistent is greatly appreciated.
The wiki notes it being the “glue” between Anaconda and system-config-kickstart (the GUI that enables the creation or modification of kickstarts), but I can’t seem to find any details about it that are newer than EL6:
I suppose it has been deprecated.
